Shyness versus daring. Introversion versus extroversion.

Two of the personality features that people are characterized by are shyness and introversion.
Both of them are not the same. They look quite similar but shyness is a feeling of insecurity or shame that a person feels in certain social circumstances and it doesn’t allow this person to talk with other people and to interact properly with them.

Instead, introversion, is the attitude of concentrating your interests on your thoughts and feelings, it is the sensation of not needing to be in contact with people or with your social environment, and to keep your energies just within yourself.

A person can be shy but not introverted and vice versa.

But what is better?

Not to have any problem talking with the rest of the world, to open yourself easily?  or by the contrary, to be closer, to keep your thoughts and emotions with you and to not share with them?

Like all in this life, both cases have their strong and weak points.

I could say that a shy person is an observer person, is someone who likes to listen to other people’s opinion, is someone that prefers to know about others before than they know about him/her.

It is a closed book that you can read slowly, turning the pages one by one.
It is a box full of surprises ready to be discovered, but you have to be patient because these surprises are going to be revealed bit by bit.
It is a dancer who is not going to show their best dance until the final performance.

On the other hand we have the gregarious people, those who can speak about their life with any unknown person, those who are excellent story tellers, those who have no  problem in saying or doing whatever they want, those who are brave, daring people in social situations.

They shine in any social event, they act, they speak, they make people laugh, they entertain the rest.

Also, there are people who are not totally shy neither totally extrovert. It depends on the circumstances they act in one way or in another way.

People who know what it feels when you are embarrassed and your face starts to get red like if it was a reindeer nose; people who can’t say goodbye because their voice it doesn’t come up.

But also people that are able of talking about themselves with another person for hours, another person that makes them to feel comfortable, that makes them to lose their inhibitions, to open their doors, and just to be themselves.

Introversion or extroversion, shyness or not shyness, we need both.
